Maker stories

Made by hand. Sold on Kilnwork.

Four studios, four kilns, four very different Saturdays. Every one of them runs stock, shipping and wholesale from the same login you'd get today.

Pricing

Pay per month. Never per sale.

Every plan takes zero commission on what you make. Sell one $340 vase or nine hundred mugs — the number on the card is the number you pay.

Questions

Straight answers. No fine print.

The eight things makers ask before moving 400 products and six years of orders. If yours isn't here, send it over — a person reads every one.

Still have questions?

Email the studio crew, not a ticket queue. Most answers come back inside two hours, seven days a week.

Fourteen days free, no card. After that it's $29 a month for one studio, and Kilnwork takes 0% of what you sell — cards run 2.4% + 30¢, which is the processor's rate, not a markup.

See all plans

Set a lead time on each product — same day for the mugs on the shelf, five weeks for a commissioned dinner set. Buyers see it on the product page, at checkout, and in the confirmation email. When the kiln backs up, change it once and every open order updates.

Scan the batch in and all 40 go live at once — online shop, market stall, wholesale portal. Sell the last one from a tent on Saturday and the website pulls it down in about a second, so nobody pays for a mug that's already boxed.

One catalogue, two price lists. Approved shops log in to wholesale pricing, case packs and a $300 minimum; everyone else sees retail. Line sheets build from the same products, so a stockist can't order a glaze you retired in March.

Save a box preset once — 12-inch platter, double-walled, 14×14×6 — and every cart holding that piece quotes the real rate instead of a guess. Labels and insurance print from the order screen, and the tracking email goes out without you opening another tab.

The card reader pairs with your phone and keeps taking payments when the field has no bars — sales queue up and sync the moment it's back. A $4,200 fair weekend lands in the same report as the website, sorted by product instead of by channel.

Import products, customers and six years of orders from a CSV or a live store, usually inside an hour. Old links redirect on their own, so the bowl someone pinned in 2021 still opens the right page.

You do. Export every customer, order and email address to CSV whenever you feel like it, and take the theme code with you. No lock-in clause, no exit fee, no holding your domain hostage.

Your turn

Fire the kiln. Open the shop.

Your first twelve mugs can be listed by lunch. Storefront, market booth, and wholesale line sheets all run off one order list. You keep every cent you charge.
